This campaign is a Traditional Fundraiser. Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics will accept and process your donation immediately.

Description:

It’s another day in Struggle City for the LEAP interns. They just can’t seem to pull it together! I mean, how hard can it be to make a video, right? All you need is a camera...

On second thought, it’s much harder than we expected!

LEAP provides professional training services that empower and educate leaders in all fields, and we want to share our services with everyone! But we can’t do that without a quality video. So how ‘bout it, will you help us make a better introductory video?

LEAP is a national , non-profit organization that provides leadership training to emerging leaders in higher education, non-profit, and corporate sectors. As a non-profit organization, LEAP operates within tight financial and logistical constraints. But, while our work is challenging, we’re committed to our mission of developing leaders and are determined to do so with passion.  That’s why we need your help. LEAP offers a variety of leadership training programs and workshops and we want to communicate our vision and programs to a wider and more diverse audience.

In order to do so, LEAP needs a professional, well-crafted “About Us” video.
The funds raised through this campaign will go towards an official “About LEAP” video by marketing firm and LEAP Annual Contributor, Plan C Agency.  Plan C Agency (plancagency.com) is a full service Asian Pacific American marketing company specializing in strategy development, advertising, experiential, interactive media, publicity, and entertainment.  A marketing video about LEAP would typically cost approximately $25,000.  Plan C Agency and Giancarlo Pacheco (President of Plan C Agency and LEAP Board member) has graciously offered to donate their company and staff resources (over $20,000 of professional services), if we are able to raise $5000 with this campaign.

Help us reach this goal by spreading the word about this campaign!!  If 200 people donate $25, we will reach our goal and be able to create a professional and high quality video for LEAP.

To thank all of our donors for helping us to reach our goal, we will release videos of special challenges for every $1,000 raised:

$2000 - Faye attempts “Saltine Challenge.”  6 crackers in 60 seconds. Will she dominate?

$3000 - Eury does “Coins on Face Challenge.” How many coins can she fit on her forehead in 60 seconds?  Can she beat the world record?

$4000 - Alvin performs one of his least favorite songs,“Call Me Maybe”, acapella and in public.

$5000 - LEAP Interns (Alvin, Faye, Eury and 2012 LIA alumni) perform a rewritten version of “Boyfriend” by the Biebs entitled “Leader”. Yes, it will be awesome and magical and will include leadership references.

About LEAP:

Envisioned as a vehicle to develop leaders, LEAP is a national , non-profit organization, working to achieve full participation and equality for Asian and Pacific Islanders (API) through leadership, empowerment, and education.

Despite the many advancements that the API community has made in recent decades, there continues to be a lack of API representation in executive leadership positions across all sectors. In 2011, only 30 Fortune 100 companies had API representation on their board, in which 29 API directors held only 32 out of 1,211 seats. In the non-profit sector, 75 API directors held 78 out of 3,051 seats

Through the creation of culturally relevant training programs, LEAP has made tremendous progress in redressing these issues. More than 125,000 people from colleges and universities, community and student organizations, state and federal government agencies, and Fortune 1000 companies across North America have participated in over 2,500 leadership development programs.

LEAP also offers pro bono and discounted  workshops to other nonprofit organizations that serve API and under served communities, because we understand that our work is not singular, and that the work of building leaders stretches across communities of all colors and backgrounds.

So stand with us today! Donate and help us create a video that will inform people everywhere about the work we do and the services we provide that are available to them.
